Deadline Date:

Description:

Request a Grant Writer

Grants of up to $70,000 to Nova Scotia investigators associated with academic institutions for research related to respiratory health. Funding is intended to prevent and manage lung disease. Funding may be used for equipment, operating expenses, and for employing research trainees, research assistants, and technicians. Salaries for grant employed staff should be in line with those used for employees in the Grantee’s institution.

Applications are being accepted for research projects that are respiratory health-related and pertain to any of the four missions below.

  • Mission 1 (Reduce Harm): Advance disease detection, diagnosis, treatment, and prevention
  • Mission 2 (Improve Systems and Resources): Strengthen the health care delivery system
  • Mission 3 (Build Resilience): Care for vulnerable populations
  • Mission 4 (Innovate for the Future): Promote better opportunities for future health and wellbeing

In past Legacy Research Grant cycles, the Association required successful applicants to publish their research findings in an open-access journal (at minimum). This year, the Association will be replacing this requirement by making knowledge translation (KT) a fundamental part of the Legacy Research Grant. Applicants will be required to provide either an End of Grant KT or Integrated KT plan (as per CIHR guidelines) as part of their application.
