PARK DEVELOPMENT, SUPPORT OF LOCAL CHARITIES, AND STUDENT SCHOLARSHIPS, FOR THE BETTERMENT OF OUR LOCAL COMMUNITIES.

GRANTS TO COLLEGES AND UNIVERSITIES FOR THE PURPOSE OF PROVIDING EDUCATIONAL SCHOLARSHIPS; GRANTS TOTALING $66,000 WERE PAID TO 7 COLLEGES AND UNIVERSITIES.

For every scholarship/loan awarded, 50% is a gift (reported on Part I, Line 25 in the year paid) and 50% is a loan to be repaid five years after graduation or funding from the whichever shall occur first (See Loans Receivable for total outstanding loans at 1/31) This represents 50% of the scholarships/loans paid from 2/1 to 1/31 of this fiscal year.

The Corporation supports and advocates for the improvement of communication, education and job opportunities for minorities and individuals in the community. GEEDC provided grants for building repairs, upgrades, and new equipment purchases. GEEDC also provided grants for sponsorship of various youth team organizations to help at risk youth.GEEDC also provides financial assistance to students attending various colleges and universities and other training institutions.

THE PURPOSE OF THE IS TO SUPPORT THE DEVELOPMENT AND THE IMPLEMENTATION OF IMPROVEMENT INITIATIVES, MODEL PROGRAMS, AWARD GRANTS AND SCHOLARSHIPS, AND LEVERAGE COMMUNITY RESOURCES TO SUPPORT, STRENGTHEN, AND IMPROVE PUBLIC EDUCATION IN THE SYSTEM.
