Funding is intended for programs to improve outcomes for students by increasing relationships between educators and strengthening the organizational capacity of elementary and secondary schools. The program has three funding components: partnership, structural readiness, and regional education agreement.

Grants to USA and Canada early-career MDs and PhDs affiliated with nonprofit institutions and organizations to research genetic components of pediatric cancers. Funding is intended for basic and translational research addressing inherited hematologic malignancy predisposition disorders. The aims of research proposals must be relevant to the goal of preventing hematologic malignant transformation in RUNX1-FPD. Eligible uses of funds include travel, small pieces of equipment, and supplies.

Award to a USA, Canada, or International investigator for outstanding research related to lupus. Nominations will be accepted for researchers at biomedical, research, academic, or biotechnology institutions worldwide. The award recognizes and honors a scientist who has made a novel discovery in scientific domains related to lupus. The seminal observation should have been published between 2020 and 2024. The recipient will be honored at the FOCIS Annual Meeting and will be expected to deliver a lecture describing their discovery/insight.

Grants and consulting services to USA, Canada, and International cities to improve how municipal services are delivered. Funding is intended to support the implementation of ideas that are actionable, novel, and potentially impactful. Eligible proposals must focus on a "core city service," which is a service that is citywide and resident-facing that falls under municipal authority.

Grants of up to $50,000 to USA, Canada, and International medical researchers for research projects in the field of arthroscopy. Funding may be used for basic scientific or clinical research projects or projects that address medical conditions that are suitable for arthroscopic treatment.

Grants to Canada nonprofit organizations, local and regional governments, tribes, police services, IHEs, and educational institutions for activities that reduce crime among vulnerable populations. Funding is intended to support innovative projects that prevent Indigenous youth, racialized youth, youth repeat offenders, and at-risk youth from committing criminal acts within their communities. Priority will be given to direct interventions that reduce harmful factors and prevent bullying and those that strengthen community readiness for Indigenous populations.

Grants to Canada nonprofit organizations, local and regional governments, tribes, police services, IHEs, and educational institutions for activities to combat youth gangs. Funding is intended to prevent youth from joining gangs, assist them in leaving gangs, and provide support to keep them from re-joining gangs. The goal of the program is to reduce serious youth violence and youth gang threats.

Grants to USA and Canada organizations for projects to benefit local communities where the funding source has a presence. Eligible organizations are aligned with one of the following areas of interest: local community, water, and food. Funding is intended to address issues including hunger, agricultural education and development, habitat conservation, nutrient stewardship, watershed restoration, and sustainable communities.

Opportunity for USA, Canada, and eligible International nonprofit organizations, NGOs, and charitable organizations to participate in a contest to address climate change. The purpose of the contest is to generate innovative and sustainable projects related to wildlife conservation, clean energy, and climate risk reduction, among other topics. The applicant organization must be registered where the proposed project will be implemented in one of the following countries: Argentina, Brazil, Canada, Columbia, Costa Rica, Guatemala, Mexico, Panama, Peru, and the United States of America.

Fellowships to USA, Canada, and International undergraduate and graduate students for leadership and entrepreneurship development. The purpose of the program is to enable emerging entrepreneurs to develop projects addressing global challenges. Participants will receive access to resources, mentorship, and community-building events.

Grants of $1,000 to Canada youth and students for programs that encourage healthy practices among their peers. Eligible programs are created by youth between the ages of 16 and 19 and address one of the following four areas of interest: mental health; nutrition and healthy eating; physical activity; and substance-related harms. The project must include health equity considerations to make sure project activities are inclusive and will meet the needs of diverse youth, including racialized youth, Indigenous youth, 2SLGBTQI+ youth, and youth with disabilities.

Grants of $1,200 to USA, Canada, and International individuals for research related to amphibians and reptiles. Preference will be given to undergraduate and graduate students and early-career faculty. Funding may be used for the purchase of lab and field equipment and travel associated with field research.

Fellowships to USA, Canada, and International graduate students to participate in sustainability and clean energy projects. The purpose of the program is to help fellows make a positive impact on climate and smart energy solutions. Fellowships will take place over the course of 10-12 weeks.

Grants of up to $10,000 to Nova Scotia nonprofit societies, municipalities, Mi'kmaq bands, community associations and clubs, and schools for recreational and physical activities. Interested applicants must contact staff prior to applying. Funding is intended to support recreational programs that address community needs.

Fellowships to USA, Canada, and International artists to attend a workshop at a craft school in Maine. The opportunity is open to artists from diverse and underrepresented backgrounds working in the field of ceramics. The workshop will take place during the summer of 2025 at the Haystack Mountain School of Crafts in Deer Isle, Maine.

Fellowships of $10,000 to USA Native American, Native Hawaiian, Alaskan Native, and Canada Indigenous early-career episodic creators and filmmakers for professional skills development. The year-long fellowship will help filmmakers and creators sharpen storytelling and technical skills in a hands-on environment, including feedback sessions with advisors and roundtable discussions. The program will combine virtual sessions and in-person sessions in Santa Fe, New Mexico.

Grants to USA, Canada, and International Global Medical Education Providers to provide continuing education to medical oncologists, urologists, and other oncology team members regarding a specific type of cancer. Preference will be given to initiatives with multiple funding sources in addition to Astellas/Pfizer. All activities must address knowledge gaps around Urothelial Carcinoma (UC).

In-kind support to USA, Canada, Mexico, Australia, New Zealand, and Europe nonprofit organizations to build their brands. The program will provide web design and digital assistance to nonprofits to create an impact and reach target audiences. Eligible services include but are not limited to website design, logo design, annual reports, and billboards.

Fellowships to USA, Canada, and International university professors to conduct research, teach courses, lead seminars, and establish academic connections with faculty members at a university in Israel. The exact breakdown of activities funded by the fellowship will be mutually agreed upon by the professor and the academic sponsor. The post-doctoral training will take place at the Hebrew University and candidates must be sponsored by a faculty member.

Opportunity for USA, Canada, and International startups at any stage to participate in an accelerator program to help launch innovative technology ventures. Companies that provide products or services in the following sectors are eligible: cybersecurity, AI and machine learning, climate technology, financial technology, energy, health, and aerospace.

Fellowships to USA, Canada, and International post-doctoral scholars to participate in a research project at an institute of higher education in Israel. The purpose of this program is to allow scholars to dedicate their time to training and academic research. The post-doctoral training will take place at the Hebrew University and candidates must be sponsored by a faculty member.

Award to a USA, Canada, or International individual to recognize significant contributions to the planning and development of the built environment. Nominees may come from any discipline and include, but are not limited to, public officials, developers, educators, authors, journalists, researchers, artists, urban planners, technologists, activists, architects, or landscape architects, among others.

Grants of up to $2,500 and in-kind resources to USA, Canada, Latin America, and Caribbean organizations for community and youth events related to the study of birds. This grant includes free training and materials in addition to funding. Activities should center Equity, Diversity, Justice, and Inclusion in birdwatching and ornithology. Celebrate Urban Birds will prioritize community-led applications from underserved communities that share their local knowledge and expertise and emphasize culture and the arts.

In-kind donations of repair products to USA, Canada, and International nonprofit cycling organizations. This grant program was designed to help local organizations outfit their shops with the repair products that they need. Grant recipients will receive the following products: one Park Tool PK-5 Professional Mechanic Tool Kit, two Park Tool PCS-10.3 Portable Repair Stands, five Park Tool SA-1 Shop Aprons, and one Park Tool BBB-4 Big Blue Book of Bicycle Repair.

Grants to USA, Canada, and International nonprofit organizations for programs that directly benefit individuals in need. Applicants must contact the funding source prior to applying. Priority is given to programs that benefit residents of Connecticut, as well as worldwide. In general, the preference is to fund specific programs, and direct, tangible assistance, rather than equipment or general operating support.

Award of $1,000 to a USA, Canada, or International individual affiliated with a nonprofit charitable, educational, or scientific institution, or governmental entity in recognition of an exceptional dissertation. Funding is intended for individuals with promising research projects focusing on small groups.

Sponsorships to Canada organizations to support communities throughout the country. The goal of the program is to support activities that focus on youth and that leverage technology in the areas of health, education, and the environment. Current sponsorships also include the categories of sports, resorts, and culture.

Grants to USA and Canada organizations for medical and health-related programming. Funding is intended for programs that improve patient care and promote education for healthcare providers. Eligible use of funds includes internet-based publications, presentations, seminars, conferences, meetings, and live events.

Grants to USA and Canada institutions, researchers, and qualified physicians for research to advance medical care. Funding is intended to further research associated with the funding source's products within a broad range of focus areas including anesthesia, diagnostics, and operating rooms.

Grants to USA and Canada community hospitals, medical societies and associations, and teaching institutions for fellowship training programs. Funding is intended for studies related to disease states and therapeutic areas addressed by the funding source's products. Fellows are trained in the latest medical procedures and technologies.

Grants and in-kind support to Canada nonprofit organizations, community groups, and organizations serving Indigenous populations to provide food services to underserved communities. Funding is intended for the acquisition, transportation, and installation of commercial kitchen equipment.

Grants to USA, Canada, and International nonprofit organizations for projects that benefit children worldwide. Funding is intended to support children's health and wellness in an effort to improve their chances at a brighter future. Previous grants have funded heart surgeries and eye care and provided sustainable futures for families in Africa.

Grant of $1,000 to a Canada Black or Indigenous individual graphic novel creator to support their career. Funding is intended for an emerging comics creator of any age or gender to create and produce a mini-comic. The purpose of the program is to support underrepresented voices in Canada's comics industry.

Contract for services to a USA, Canada, or International artist or artist team to create a piece of artwork to commemorate the Holocaust. The artistic piece will incorporate a vast collection of buttons to honor the memory of the war's murdered children, to be displayed at a designated site in Massachusetts. Funds may be used to cover the costs of materials, labor, and installation. The purpose of the project is to commemorate these children and raise awareness about the atrocities of the Holocaust, fostering reflection and education among the community.

In-kind educational programs to USA, Canada, and International schools, school districts, and LEAs to promote STEAM education. The program focuses on three areas of interest: professional development for staff, invention workshops, and space design. The purpose of the program is to financially support schools, districts, and other local educational agencies who desire to leverage Inventionland® Education’s award-winning Innovation Labs®, professional development programs, and K-12 Innovation curriculum.

Grants of up to $1,000 to USA, Canada, and International nonprofit organizations and universities for conservation programs that protect worldwide wildlife and habitats. Priority will go to projects that demonstrate a multi-disciplinary approach to biodiversity and ecosystem conservation. Projects that involve in-country collaborators or align with RWPZoo’s conservation portfolio receive the highest funding priority.

Grants of up to $5,000 to USA, Canada, and International individuals for environmental initiatives in the real estate industry. Funding is intended for academic faculty, students, real estate managers, tenants, and building owners. Preference will be given to proposals that emphasize diversity, involve young professionals, and promote real estate industry knowledge.

Opportunity for USA, Canada, and International artists to participate in a New York-based residency program within their artistic discipline. Residencies are available in the following disciplines: music, architecture, writing, art, and dance. The residency will take place in Columbia County, New York.

Fellowships to USA, Canada, and International individuals from a range of professional backgrounds to study the ethics of their profession in relation to the Holocaust. Eligible participants are involved in the following careers: business, law, design and technology, medicine, journalism, and religious leadership. FASPE seeks Fellows who are interested in engaging in discussions with their co-Fellows and faculty, and who have the intellectual and emotional maturity to unpack difficult and controversial issues responsibly and respectfully in small group settings.

Fellowships to USA, Canada, and International scholars to pursue humanities-related projects at an institute in Illinois. Funding is intended to facilitate research and the use of the Foundation's resources for a limited period of time. Several categories of fellowships are available. Applications that propose productive use of the Newberry’s collections are more likely to receive fellowship awards. The fellowships will take place at the Newberry in Chicago.

Competition for USA, Canada, and International photographers for images in a selection of categories. There will be an award for the overall winner of the open competition and another for female photographers entering the competition, as well as 15 shortlisted photographers per category. The contest is open to all members of the public; images must be taken in 2024. Winners will be announced at a formal ceremony in London.

Competition for USA, Canada, and International young photographers to submit their favorite images taken in 2024. All genres, styles, and approaches are welcome; the contest is for applicants ages 19 and under. A shortlist of up to 9 individuals will be selected; the winner will be named Youth Photographer of the Year and will receive photographic equipment and free travel and accommodation to an awards ceremony.

Opportunity for USA and Canada startups to participate in a business development program. Participants will receive investment funding, networking opportunities, deals and perks, mentoring, and coaching. Applications are welcome from sustainability- or mobility-related startups. The purpose of the program is to facilitate research regarding the impact of slavery and race on the United States and the world at large. The fellowship will take place at Yale University in New Haven, Connecticut.

Grants to USA, Canada, and International early-career researchers in the fields of circadian and sleep research for assistance in submitting applications for federal funding. Funding is intended for projects that address important issues related to sleep health, circadian science, and sleep disorders.

Grants to USA, Canada, and International nonprofit organizations, IHEs, research institutions, and for-profits for initiatives addressing nutrition. Funding is intended to support projects that will have a significant impact in the fields of healthy diets, sustainable production, and consumer benefit.

Grants to USA and Canada educators at academic institutions to expand a lighting program. Funding is intended for the development of courses that improve instruction in lighting within the applicant institution. Benefit costs are allowable. Proposals that are multidisciplinary are encouraged. The program must be accredited and offer a Bachelor’s or Graduate degree.

Grants of up to $30,000 to USA and Canada educators at academic institutions for the addition of a lighting design component to an existing curriculum. Funding is intended to enhance programs in interior design, engineering, technology, and architecture. Eligible IHE programs should currently have either minimal or no lighting design offerings in their curricula. The program must be accredited and offer a Bachelor’s or Graduate degree.

Fellowship of $20,000 to a USA or Canada lighting educator at an academic institution for the opportunity to work in the industry or at an IHE with an established lighting program. The program is intended to expand the fellow's knowledge of architectural lighting, thereby improving their instruction on the subject. The participant will spend a significant portion of a semester in the lighting industry working with a manufacturing or design firm, or at a college or university with a thriving lighting program working with an established professor.

Award to a USA, Canada, or International emerging woman playwright to recognize exceptional creative talent. The award is intended to honor full-length works written for theater production. In addition to a monetary prize, the winner will be given the opportunity to present a public reading and participate in a summer workshop as part of the Powerhouse Theater Program at Vassar College. All women, trans, and non-binary playwrights who consider themselves emerging (as distinct from fledgling or mid-career playwrights) are eligible to apply.

Grants to Canada IHE faculty members to partner with companies, researcher-owned companies, and early-stage investment groups to develop and transfer technology from colleges and universities to companies throughout the country. Funding is intended to support research and development projects that demonstrate technology transfer potential.

Grants to USA, Canada, and International researchers for research projects in the field of dermatology. Funding is intended to support research projects that increase the understanding of dermatological diseases and their symptoms. Eligible projects are those that address clinical issues among people who are at risk of developing, or have developed, a skin disease, including how it impacts their quality of life and the societal costs involved.

Grants to Canada nonprofit organizations and Indigenous governments for heritage preservation and documentation. Funding is intended to support activities that improve digitization methods, cataloging, information access, and networking among historical societies, archives, libraries, and other organizations with collections of regional or local significance.

Awards to USA and Canada young scientists to acknowledge exceptional contributions to the study of skin disease. Funds may be used for salaries, equipment, and materials necessary for conducting and completing dermatological research. The awards are intended to recognize outstanding scientists according to region. The purpose of the award program is to give global recognition to individual scientists who advance understanding of the field while paving the way for new and improved treatments for skin diseases.

Grants to USA, Canada, and International individuals with doctoral degrees for sarcoma research. Eligible research projects must be translational or clinical in nature and must be directly applicable to sarcoma. Funding is intended to support the fellow's salary for the duration of a one-year project.

Grants to USA, Canada, and International early-career researchers affiliated with nonprofit research institutions, hospitals, and universities for research related to Parkinson's disease. Funding is intended to assist researchers who are underrepresented in the field. Applications from investigators from underrepresented countries in Asia, Africa, and Latin America are particularly encouraged.

Fellowship of $60,000 to a USA, Canada, or International postdoctoral or clinical researcher to conduct research related to sarcoma. The purpose of the program is to support translational or clinical research to advance knowledge about sarcoma and help the successful applicant establish a career path in this field.

Grants to USA, Canada, and International researchers affiliated with nonprofit organizations, IHEs, hospitals, laboratories, government agencies, and for-profit entities for research related to autoimmune disease. Funding is intended for projects designed to offer proof-of-concept data that can be used for the downstream development of larger, multi-year collaborative projects if successful. Applicants must hold an M.D., D.M.D, D.V.M., Ph.D., or equivalent and have a faculty position or equivalent at a college, university, medical school, or other research facility. Applications from persons with disabilities, women, and members of minority groups underrepresented in the sciences are encouraged.

Awards to Canada K-12 health teachers for excellence in health and physical education. The award will be given to teachers who motivate their students to pursue healthy habits and lifestyles, renew their skills with professional development opportunities, and have made an impact on colleagues in other schools and in the community.

Fellowships to USA, Canada, and International doctoral and postdoctoral researchers for research projects related to the Holocaust. Eligible research projects are those that focus on the religious, socio-cultural, economic, legal, ethical, moral, and political aspects of the Holocaust, the immediate historical context in which the Holocaust took place, and other related topics. The Fellowship program funds research and writing, allowing scholars to travel to Holocaust-related archives, including newly uncovered archival Holocaust resources.

Grants to USA, Canada, and International researchers, health professionals, and scientists for research related to Alzheimer's disease. The purpose of this program is to support projects investigating the cause of Alzheimer's disease. Eligible projects must be narrowly focused on elucidating the possible roles of infectious agents in the causation of Alzheimer’s disease. The awards will support innovative research including basic, clinical, and/or non-traditional approaches. This includes proposals that span the breadth of the microbial world including bacteria, fungi, parasites, viruses, and microbial synergy among other possibilities.

Award of $2,000 to a USA, Canada, or International individual to recognize contributions to the field of mental health. Eligible recipients are psychologists within the first ten years of their postdoctoral degree. This award is intended to recognize efforts to advocate for, inform, and improve the mental health and well-being of families and children, particularly through policy.

Awards to USA, Canada, and International journalists and student journalists to recognize exceptional reporting on disabilities. Entries can be presented digitally, broadcasted, or printed. Eligible applicants include professional journalists as well as college student journalists.

Grants of up to $15,000 and grants of up to $50,000 to Nova Scotia nonprofit societies and cooperatives for innovative cultural activities that address social issues. Funding is intended to promote creative innovative organizational change through adaptiveness. Two funding streams are available; one with matching funds and one without.

Awards to USA, Canada, and International individuals to recognize exceptional contributions to the field of air quality and climate change. Selected award winners are honored for transformative achievements in advancing environmental policy goals and environmental justice, or furthering research, education, science, and technology. Awards honor those with international accomplishments as well as those who have acted locally.

Grants to USA, Canada, and International organizations for initiatives to save rivers from development. Funding is intended for activities that help rivers stay or become free flowing. Eligible types of activities include removing existing barriers or campaigning to prevent the installation of new dams or hydropower projects.

Grants of up to $15,000 to USA, Canada, and International nonprofit organizations for programs and projects that impact at-risk youth. Eligible uses of funds include program, project, or general operating support. The mission of the Foundation is to reduce recidivism by strengthening families of incarcerated individuals.

Fellowships of $8,000 to USA, Canada, and International conservation professionals to attend a one-month training program in the US. The program curriculum will be taught by a faculty of international experts who will work with fellows to explore new methods of employing market-based approaches to address environmental issues. The fellowship will take place at the Western Washington University in Bellingham, Washington, USA.

Awards to USA, Canada, and International individuals, youth, institutions, companies, and organizations to recognize outstanding contributions to the field of sustainability. Awards are offered in both an adult and a youth category. The theme of the current award cycle is Trailblazing Leadership.

Grants to USA, Canada, and International for-profit and non-profit organizations, IHEs, biotech companies, and federal government organizations working in collaborative teams for research related to glioblastomas. Applicants are required to submit an LOI and complete required registrations prior to submitting a full grant application. Of particular interest is glioblastoma research as it relates to members of the military and their families.

Fellowships to USA, Canada, and International early-career medical researchers for research projects to improve cancer treatments. Funding is intended for clinical and translational research projects that have direct applications to lung cancer. Applicants must belong to underrepresented groups, including racial and ethnic groups that are underrepresented in health-related sciences, individuals with disabilities, and individuals from disadvantaged backgrounds.

Fellowships to USA, Canada, and International researchers from historically underrepresented groups to support autism and neuroscience research. The fellowship is divided into two streams: faculty research and postdoctoral with the intention that the fellows will transition from the faculty fellowship to the postdoctoral one over the course of the program. This award supports talented early career scientists and their research vision as they transition into tenure-track or equivalent faculty positions. Fellows engage in a lively, interdisciplinary community and participate in scientific and career development activities.

Awards to Canada elementary and secondary school teachers and groups of teachers from any discipline to honor excellence in education and honor achievements in STEM education. Award recipients will receive national recognition for their achievements in education and a certificate from the Prime Minister.

Awards to Canada early childhood educators and groups of educators for excellence in early childhood education. Award recipients are honored for their leadership and dedication to the profession, innovation and quality practices, involvement with community residents, and support of child development. Awardees will receive a certificate from the Prime Minister and national recognition for their contribution to excellence in education.

Fellowships of up to $5,000 to USA, Canada, and International scholars and artists pursuing research to conduct studies using the funding source's digital resource library. The purpose of the opportunity is to allow researchers to set aside designated research time without having to worry about other work obligations.

Grants of up to $10,000 and in-kind support to USA, Canada, and International scholars representing Indigenous communities for efforts to record, preserve, and bring to life Indigenous cultures, languages, and knowledge systems. Funding is intended to increase access to the Smithsonian’s diverse collections - archival, biological, and cultural - in support of interdisciplinary research aimed at language and knowledge documentation and revitalization.

Grants to USA, Canada, and International individual mature artists to mitigate financial need. Eligible applicants include sculptors, printmakers, and painters who have been working as artists for at least twenty years. Funding is intended to help and encourage artists who have dedicated their lives to developing their art, regardless of their level of commercial success.

Residencies to USA, Canada, and International women artists to practice bookmaking. The purpose of the program is to teach students in the studio and the classroom setting and to create a limited series artist's publication by hand. The residency may last up to ten weeks and will take place in Rosendale, New York, in conjunction with the Kingston City School District.

Grants of up to $1,500 to USA, Canada, and International nonprofit organizations, government agencies, schools, and other organizations to develop environmental curricula. Funding is intended for holistic environmental curricula development and implementation that incorporate basic ecological principles and problem-solving and integrate field activities and classroom teaching.

Grants to Nova Scotia nonprofit organizations and charities, social enterprises, municipalities, and private sector entities to provide students with paid work experience related to their chosen career paths. Funding, in the form of a financial incentive, is intended to defray the hourly pay of qualifying co-op students.

Fellowships of $3,000 to USA, Canada, and Mexico Native American artists to develop and expand their artistic practice. Artists from a wide range of disciplines are eligible to apply. Fellows will also receive travel reimbursement, an allowance for supplies, studio space, and on-campus housing in addition to a monthly stipend.

Grants to Canada publishers, theater groups and companies, Indigenous organizations, and Deaf and disability arts organizations to translate Canadian dramatic and literary works. Applicants must register on the application portal a minimum of 30 days prior to applying. Funding is intended for activities that support the translation of theater and literary works into English, French, or an Indigenous (First Nations, Inuit, or Métis) language, American Sign Language (ASL), Langue des signes québécoise (LSQ), or any other regional Canadian or Indigenous sign language for Canadian publication or presentation.

Eligible projects either eliminate or reduce emissions or increase the uptake of greenhouse gas emissions in the oceans and the atmosphere.

Interns will acquire experience by working with operations staff at an established arts nonprofit in New York. Duties and projects will include marketing initiatives, public relations, writing assignments, fundraising, event planning, and arts administration. In addition to a monthly cash stipend, participants will be given accommodations on campus at the funding source's location in Rosendale, New York.

Fellowships and grants to USA, Canada, and International researchers and scholars to study the history of technology, medicine, and science in the United States. Fellows will receive access to the funding source's extensive collection of resources, as well as participate in lectures and groups. The fellowship will take place in Philadelphia.
